PMB 200/300 Exporter and Supplier from Brazil

The Softest Polymer Modified Bitumen Class, Supplied to Project Specification

Brazil Bitumen, powered by Tiger Bitumen (HY International Group), is a PMB 200/300 supplier from Brazil for international importers, distributors, binder producers and road contractors. PMB 200/300 is the softest grade in our Polymer Modified Bitumen range and the softest penetration class in the EN 14023 framework.

However, PMB 200/300 is a specialist binder. It is less common than the paving grades in our range and buyers usually request it for a specific technical purpose. Therefore, we confirm availability, softening point class and full technical data for each enquiry individually.

Each offer includes a technical data sheet with the applicable specification, test methods and limits. As a result, buyers and their engineers can check the product against their requirements before ordering from a PMB 200/300 supplier from Brazil.

What is PMB 200/300?

PMB 200/300 is a polymer modified bitumen classified under the European EN 14023 specification framework. The figures 200/300 indicate its penetration range at 25 °C: 200 to 300 tenths of a millimetre. Therefore, it is softer than PMB 120/200.

Under EN 14023, the full designation adds the minimum softening point after a hyphen, in the form PMB 200/300-XX. The technical data sheet supplied with each quotation confirms the softening point class, elastic recovery and other properties of our product.

Because of its very soft consistency, PMB 200/300 is not typically selected as a structural paving binder. Instead, buyers may consider it for specialized applications that require high flexibility and workability, subject to the relevant specification. The technical data sheet also confirms the polymer type and modification method for the product offered.

PMB 200/300 Technical Specifications

The table below lists the properties used to specify PMB 200/300 under EN 14023. However, the applicable class and confirmed product values must be checked against the technical data sheet and certificate of analysis supplied with each quotation and shipment.

Brazilian specifications. In Brazil, elastomer-modified asphalts are classified as 55/75-E, 60/85-E and 65/90-E under ANP Resolution No. 897/2022. These types use minimum softening point, elastic recovery and their own penetration limits. Therefore, PMB 200/300 is not automatically equivalent to any of these Brazilian types. Buyers supplying Brazilian projects should compare the product’s technical data sheet with the applicable ANP, DNIT or project specification.

Applications of PMB 200/300

PMB 200/300 is a specialist grade, so the buyer’s technical specification determines its intended use. As the softest PMB class in this range, it may be considered where a project requires:

  • A very soft polymer modified binder for specialized surface treatments or sealing work
  • A soft modified base binder for further processing, such as emulsion or binder production
  • High binder flexibility in very cold climates, where the project specification permits this grade

However, PMB 200/300 is generally unsuitable for structural asphalt layers and heavy-traffic pavements in hot climates, where harder grades may be more appropriate. Since applications vary, share your intended use and project specification with our team so we can confirm whether PMB 200/300 is suitable.

Key Features

As the softest PMB class, PMB 200/300 offers the following characteristics, subject to its confirmed specification:

  • Very high flexibility at low service temperatures
  • Easy workability compared with harder modified grades
  • Cohesion and elasticity from polymer modification, beyond what an unmodified soft bitumen of similar consistency may provide
  • Specification-led supply, with the softening point class and other properties confirmed for each order

Nevertheless, suitability for any application depends on the project specification, materials, construction practice and climate.

Handling, Packaging and Documentation

PMB 200/300 is very soft, but as a polymer modified product it still needs controlled heating and storage that keeps the polymer evenly dispersed. Overheating and prolonged hot storage should be avoided. Heating, storage and application temperatures should follow the technical data sheet for the supplied product.

Packaging for PMB 200/300 is confirmed with each quotation. See our bitumen packing page for the formats we use.

Each PMB 200/300 enquiry is supported with:

  • Technical data sheet for the offered product
  • Certificate of analysis for the supplied batch
  • Safety data sheet
  • Independent inspection by SGS or Bureau Veritas, which can be arranged on request
  • Standard export documents, including commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin

Other PMB Grades from Brazil Bitumen

If your specification allows a firmer binder, compare PMB 200/300 with these grades in our Polymer Modified Bitumen range:

  • PMB 120/200: very soft grade for flexible treatments and low-temperature conditions

  • PMB 90/150: soft grade for surface dressing and modified emulsion production

  • PMB 75/130: soft, elastic grade for SAM/SAMI interlayers and anti-crack treatments

Frequently Asked Questions

PMB 200/300 FAQs

What is PMB 200/300?

PMB 200/300 is a polymer modified bitumen with a penetration range of 200 to 300 tenths of a millimeter at 25 °C. It is the softest penetration class in the EN 14023 framework.

What softening point does PMB 200/300 have?

The minimum softening point depends on the class chosen in the specification and is shown after the hyphen in the full designation. The class of our offered product is stated in its technical data sheet.

What is PMB 200/300 used for?

It is a specialist grade, considered where a specification calls for a very soft polymer modified binder, for example in specialized surface treatments, sealing work or as a soft base binder for further processing. It is not used in structural asphalt layers.

Is PMB 200/300 suitable for hot climates or heavy traffic?

No. For hot-climate and heavy-traffic pavements, harder grades such as PMB 45/80, PMB 25/55 or PMB 10/40 are used.

Is PMB 200/300 always available?

PMB 200/300 is a less common grade, so availability and full technical data are confirmed for each enquiry.

Is PMB 200/300 equivalent to Brazilian 55/75-E, 60/85-E or 65/90-E?

No, not automatically. Brazilian types are defined under ANP Resolution No. 897/2022 with their own softening point, elastic recovery and penetration limits. Compliance should be checked against our technical data sheet.

What documents do you supply with PMB 200/300?

We supply a technical data sheet, certificate of analysis, safety data sheet and standard export documents. SGS or Bureau Veritas inspection can be arranged on request.
